Dr. Umar Sheikh, MD

About Dr. Sheikh Dr. Umar Sheikh is a board-certified dermatologist with a deep commitment to inclusive, evidence-based care. He specializes in general and complex medical dermatology, with a strong interest in pediatric skin conditions, infectious dermatoses, and the intersection of dermatology and global health. Dr. Sheikh earned his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine and completed both his internal medicine internship and dermatology residency at the University of Chicago, where he was deeply engaged in community outreach and patient advocacy.

Dr. Sheikh has held clinical and research roles at The Dermatology Specialists in New York and Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis. As a Pediatric Dermatology Clinical Research Fellow, he worked under the mentorship of Dr. Elaine Siegfried, gaining valuable experience in managing complex pediatric dermatologic disorders.

Innovation & Research Dr. Sheikh has published extensively in high-impact journals on topics including atopic dermatitis, pediatric contact dermatitis, HPV disparities, and leprosy. His research has contributed to advancing knowledge in dermatopathology, health disparities, and global infectious diseases. He has presented nationally at the American Academy of Dermatology and regionally through the Chicago Dermatologic Society.
