Dr. Tien Nguyen graduated from medical school with an MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. During medical school, he had the privilege of completing a clinical research year in the Department of Dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco, where he learned to conduct clinical research to improve treatment options for inflammatory skin diseases. He then went on to complete his Internal Medicine Internship at California Pacific Medical Center and finished dermatology residency at the University of Colorado.

Since being in practice he has worked across various healthcare settings, from an academic center to private practices to multi-specialty groups. He stays active academically by reviewing for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, and Annals of Internal Medicine. His commitment to the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation has allowed him to participate in great projects and discussions that steer the future of healthcare for patients with HS.

Innovation & Research Dr. Nguyen has an extensive background in innovation and research, significantly contributing to the fields of dermatology, allergy, and immunology. He currently holds the title of Medical Director of Clinical Sciences within the Global Development Unit at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. He is particularly renowned for his work on hidradenitis suppurativa and other immune-mediated diseases, where he has made groundbreaking contributions in understanding the pathogenesis, epidemiology, and treatment of this debilitating condition.
